SportWit is a free football prediction game run by Sportwit Limited (company number 08098429). By creating an account you agree to what follows. If you don't, please don't use it.

No money changes hands here

SportWit is free, takes no payment, and holds no funds. There is nothing to buy, no stake, no prize pot and no withdrawal. Points are points.

If players agree something between themselves around a mini-league or a Last Man Standing game, that is a private arrangement, entirely their own business and nothing to do with us. We neither collect it, hold it, distribute it nor take a cut, and we won't get involved in disputes about it.

Chat, and what we won't tolerate in it

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour in SportWit chat. That means no harassment, no hate, no threats, no sexual content, and nothing you wouldn't say to someone's face in a pub on a Saturday.

Every message carries a Report button, and you can block any player from your profile settings — a blocked player's messages stop reaching you, and they aren't told. Reports go to a person, not a queue nobody reads. We aim to review every one within 24 hours, and we remove content and suspend accounts where it's warranted.

Chat is end-to-end encrypted, which means we cannot read your messages — not in normal operation, and not if we wanted to. When you report something, your own device attaches the messages it has already decrypted so we have something to act on. Nothing else about that conversation reaches us. We don't take bets

SportWit is not a bookmaker and not a betting exchange. Where odds are shown they are published prices, for information, and they may be out of date. Links to bookmakers take you to independent companies with their own terms — anything you do there is between you and them.

Odds, bookmaker links and the accumulator are shown only to players aged 18 or over, based on the date of birth on your account. If we don't have one, that content stays hidden. Everything else — the predictions, the leagues, the game — works at any age from 13 up.

Your account

You must be 13 or over to hold one.
Give us a date of birth that is actually yours. It decides what you're shown, and you only get to set it once.
One person, one account. Don't share your password, and tell us if you think someone else has it.
You're responsible for what you post — usernames, bios and chat messages included.

Fair play

Predictions close for the whole round at its deadline and can't be changed afterwards. Don't try to work around that, script the app, or run multiple accounts to improve your odds in a mini-league. We can suspend or remove an account that does.

Results, scores and league tables come from third-party data. We take care with it, but if a supplier sends something wrong, points may be corrected once it's fixed.

Chat

Chat is end-to-end encrypted, which means we genuinely cannot read it — so we can't moderate it either. Treat it as a private conversation among the people in the room, and behave accordingly. If someone is abusive, leave the room and tell us; we can act on accounts even though we can't see messages.

Leaving

Delete your account whenever you like, in Profile → Leave SportWit. It takes your data with it — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what goes and what stays.

No guarantees

SportWit is provided as it is. We don't promise it will always be available, always be correct, or always look the same. It depends on third-party services, and they have bad days. Nothing here excludes liability we can't lawfully exclude.
